I hear it from our technical service people all of the time. Many issues with threading can be traced back to the oil. Keep it fresh and use the good stuff. We look forward to your thoughts on the new RIDGID Endura-Clear. Our product manager will be keeping a close watch here so feel free to add to this thread with any thoughts on, well, threading.

I will have to agree 100% on the "keep it fresh and use the good stuff" mind set. I was doing some sub work foro another company and they were furnishing the threader and oil, the threads were being ripped and torn off. After asking for some new oil they sent out what looked like burnt motor oil, even though it was a name brand in a sealed container. This stuff smoked so bad you could not even see the threads you were cutting, and still gave the same results. After complaining they sent me a new set of dies, same results.
I brought in a gallon of cutting oil that I use and all was good, even swapped the old dies back in and they worked just fine. I never could get it into their heads that the junk cutting oil was the problem.
I use a dark, high sulfur content oil, buy it in 55 gallon drums.

>>>>it's not what joey thinks it is:scratchhead:<<<
HAHA after I typed that in I was thinking the same thing.
66 sec. is pretty darn quick, now if you could just do it all day long at 66 seconds. Thank God for the 300!!
No that is definately not up my alley, when somebody talks about hand threading, I'm thinking 700, not ratchet handle.
Need to set up a piece of 6" and pull a thread on it with a rachet handle, now that would seperate the men from the boys, would have to be a two man team for sure.

origianlly i was thinking 2'' pipe, but then figured the light weight guys would stall on 2''.
i'll team up with ben or charley if it was a 2 man race on 6''.
sorry guys, it's beef over brawn:oink:
