Laser not working

Just bought a 12" sliding compound miter and after assembly I was aligning the laser got it aligned and now it will work when I start the saw, there were no trouble shooting solutions in the manual. Any ideas??

If it's one of those lasers that mount to the saws arbor then it could just be that the battery is dead and needs replacing.
