I installed New Moen Faucets in both bathrooms. One is shower only, the other fulltub. Faucets are back to back in tile. Full tub shower diverter started getting harder and harder to turn to the point of stuck in shower position. it has plastic stem and I'm afraid to put force on stem. any suggestions

We're going to need a model or a picture or both to be of much help.

That's a 3 handle model.
Remove handle, and stem.
Check for debris or stem damage.
Flush out diverter chamber.
Reinstall and try it out.

To be sure, Diverter is set in shower position. does it unscrew or pull out. I have tried tugging on stem and stopped. if it unscrews, which way. will not move under light to moderate pressure.

There is a retaining nut that secures the diverter stem.
You may have to remove the escutcheon and the chrome
tube to see it. There is also an extension on the stem
that the handle screw goes into. Both the extension
and the stem should pull out. If it won't come out then
go ahead and order a new stem kit from Moen. That way
it won't matter if you destroy the old one removing it.
