I am having the darndest problem getting the top scroll saw blade holder to hold onto the blade when I tighten down the tensioner knob.
Everything I read and heard from "the pros" say I should have no more than 1/8" sideways play but the blade slips either as I tighten down the tensioner or as I start cutting.
Is there anything I can do to increase the holding power (or decrease the vertical slipping)?
The bottom blade holder has never let go.

If you haven't tried it, lube the threads on the tightening knob of the upper blade block. This will allow you to put more force into clamping before the threads get tight. Just don't get any on the block itself. Also position the blade toward the front of the block, it seems to clamp better there.

Jake,
a big "thank you - tongue.gif ." Works much better and I might make the Christmas deadline after all.
Sometimes its the smallest problems and fixes that determine job success, especially for me and woodworking.
thanks again,
