Pool table

After my wife gets me to remodel the basement, my next project is to build a pool table. I have already purchased a used piece of slate for $50 (thought that was a good deal). Has any one build one? Project is a little way off, but it is fun to plan. Or should I say making the plan should be fun.

I have not built one but I too am wanting to do so. A simple google search will pull up lots of resource. I have an entire table, nice slate but the wood is shot. At least I have templates to work with. I would like to build one from scratch but I am not near that good!

I have access to cherry and walnut at a great price I am thinking of using walnut for the table itself and probably oak for all the inside stuff you won't see.

Mine is a little ways off too, maybe we can compare notes as we begin to prep our projects.
