Has anyone bought Ridgid tools on Ebay? I have found two thickness planers running about $225-$227 on the auction website. This would be a great buy for me because the shipping is only about $60-$65. Would anyone buy off Ebay and save around $150 off buying at HD.

I bought a DW733 Planer off Ebay, excellent deal and works great. There are alot of good deals on there, just make sure you check the seller's feedback rating. Too many negatives = no sale :(

I have to agree. Read all feedbacks. I found a great deal on something and before placing a bid, I read the feedback. I didn't place the bid as 99% of feedback was cancelled order w/o explanation. Never received order. Took forever to receive item.
Be sure also to ask for current photo's if not supplied. And save photo's to a file, if the item shipped isn't what they offered as photo evidence. My neighbor purchased a chain saw on ebay. Photo showed it in excellent condition. When received, it had been in a fire and unusable. Took him nearly a year, but was finally refunded his money.
It's a world of chance. Communications with the seller often reveals if the seller is trustworthy, or a scammer. A good judge of charcter is a must.

Woody's got the key, I sold my Ridgid scrollsaw on ebay and have listed many other tools there. I just sold the last Craftsman tool I owned (and the last I ever will)...
