Why convert to 240?

I just purchased a TS3612 and a JP0610 and have a question on 120 vs 240V. What is the benefit of switching one or both? I do have 240 in the shop for a heater circuit, so a switch would not be difficult. The only spec I see changing is the amp usage. HP loooks the same.
