Is the K-380 3/8" cable to large to use on a bath tub drain ? Thanks for your input.

WIZZY, IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH THE TUB OVERFLOW, THEN THE TRAP. THE ANSWER IS YES. THE CABLE IS TOO STIFF TO NEGOTIATE THIS SETUP. IF YOU HAVE A CLEANOUT, 1.5''- 2''. THIS IS PERFECT.
ON A 1.5'' TRAP I WOULD USE A 5/16'' CABLE. ALTHOUGH I HAVE AND CAN USE A 3/8'' CABLE WITH PROPER FEEL AND LOTS OF EXPERIENCE.
GOOD LUCK.
RICK.

Rick,
With a little work and a gentle touch I can snake through an overflow with a K-50 and 5/8" cable (straight auger). It is not something you want to do very often but when you need it it will work.
I would not even consider a 3/8" cable and a K380 through an overflow.
