I have the older ts2400. Want to know if an 8" or 6" dado blade is better? Is the arbor long enough to use this?

Not sure how your older model saw may differ from the current model but the current 2400, according to the owners manual, is capable of making a dado cut up to 13/16". Unless you are planning to cut some very deep dados or using a sled, a 6" dado set should do the job for you and also be easier on your motor.

Thanks. Would you know if the speed of rotation using a six inch dado would exceed the maximum as per the manufactures specs?

Just buy a dado set that has a RPM rating that is higher than the max RPM rating of the saw. The Freud SD-206 would meet that requirement.

I have the old model 2400 and use an 8" dado set quite often. No Problem
