I got a letter in the mail today from Wood Magazine... They are offering me 3 years for the price of 1 year which is $28.00... Is this magazine worth the money? Or should I be looking for a better deal or another magazine... I currently subscribe to nothing, so I have nothing to compare too...
What are your expert opinions???

Big Johnson,
I do subscribe to it, but it is not one of my favorite magazines. I think it's a little over priced too. Here is their site and you can review their current issue to see if it carries projects that interest you.

I also subscribe to Wood Magazine. Even if it's over priced, 3 years for the price of one? Don't get many deals like that from Magazines these days.
They do offer some decent plans and articles between the covers from time to time. But as stated, it's not a favorite. Just another soarce of tid bits.

Wood magazine seems to be like all the others. At any given time, you'll find some tips, reviews, and plans. 3 years for price of one is good. Normally, you'll get 2 for 1 from Wood.
If anyone else knows of any other woodshop magazine deals, please post. smile.gif

I got the same thing in the mail. I think I am going to go for it. $28 for 21 issues. Not a bad price for 3 years. $5.95 each off the shelf. Not sure about the Workbench offer. 2 years + the shop storage issue for $22. Any Workbench opinions?

RixWorx,
Glad you got the invite in the mail today... I was starting to feel a little bad for you...
From what all is said, it should be a good mag...

I got the same notice a few months ago when my sub came up for renewal...I signed up for another three! Good mag!
I had gotten a copy from a local book store and it had some interesting articles in it. I was on the fence whether to subscribe to it or not. But after hearing about the deal you guys were being offered I had to give them a call and see if I could take advantage of it. They were more than willing to offer it to me. Thanks for the tip guys.

TC,
Good idea calling the magazine and asking for the discount price... I had never thought of that... Thanks for the input... (Hope I will be able to retain this info for future ref... ;)
Got mine in the mail and sent it out the next day. I buy the magazine at the store and have found some good ideas in it. For the price what have we got to loose.

The price is a good deal. Maybe I should cancel my subscription to Wood and re-subscribe..
I've probably subscribed to Wood for about 4 years and still refer to past copies for projects.
At present Wood seem to provide a better varity of projects.
Right now I'm subscribed to: Wood, Woodworker's Journal and American Woodworking.
