Looking at setting up lap top connection to see snake any advice

We are looking at running out see snake drain camera through a lap top computer so as to be able to record in digital format and burn to dvd or vcd. Can anyone already doing this please give some advice on any problems or suggestions that may help us.

Is there any way of running just the camera unit with out the monitor and using the lap top as the monitor?

To answer your specific question of can you use a laptop as the camera control unit the answer is no. You need a camera control unit as the power source for the SeeSnake head.
