I am looking for information on this particular model, I found a used one in the local paper but no specs on it, I would like to know if this is an older model? is it bigger than the 300? smaller? etc...

Yes, it is an older model and is larger and heavier than the Ridgid 300. It has a 2" capacity. The Ridgid model 400 was introduced in 1947.

We are currently using a model 400A power drive that we've had for years. It weighs a ton, but it gets the job done. If you can get a good deal on it, go for it. It's more practical than spending several hundred (or thousand) dollars on a brand new machine that will do just about the same thing. We've never had any downtime for repairs on the machine, just routine maintenance. It's built tough and will last for years to come.
