carbide drill chucks

Has anyone had any experience with these new carbide jaw drill chucks? I was wondering if it was a gimick or is there something to it.

Well they seem to be pretty good .I have seen them on the other popular brands of tools. and when i service them it is usally a different problem with the chuck and not because the carbid tip has worn down. the tip gives better gripping .
