I work at Home Depot and have customers that want a Ridged 12 inch compound miter saw. What do you think about making one?

Ridgid already makes a 12" compuond miter saw.

But they do not make a sliding compound miter saw and that is what the customers want. Some thing to compete with the dewalt saw.

I'm getting ready to be in the market for replacing my Delta 10" SCMS and I sure would like to buy Ridgid...Ridgid's quality is much better!!

I second the sliding compound Miter Saw. I haven't bought one yet. I am waiting for next spring when I will be builing my new deck. If Ridgid makes one then, I'm all over it. You can't beat their Warranty!

Unless it needs to moved I much rather have the Ridgid Ras. It is a better value and can do more than a CMS. If it needs to be mobile then the CMS is the route to go. Thats my opinion for what is worth.

Being the deck builder and trim carpenter that I am makes me want the SCMS, but the RAS is definitely another tool I'd love to have...they are both on my long list....

Introducing another SCMS to the marketplace without it coming equiped with dual lasers would be the same as bringing another old tool into the marketplace.

Ridgid does make a 12" compound miter slide. They are now on the shelfs of some HD's. Price is around $600.00 per Rep at Ridid on 10th of March. RL
