The Craftsman equivalent of the TS2424 has t-slot miter gauges. That saw is a Ridgid! I realize the cost of casting or machining those slots will add to the cost.
Put a set screw in the tightening clamp for the miter gage! One shouldn't need to loosen the other two SHARP wing nuts on the positioning screws to loosen the clamp in order to keep the knob from screwing off! Put some smoother wingnuts on those screws!
