View Full Version : Fence log problems on TS2400

The coupling for the link lock on the sliding table came disconnected on my TS2400. The instruction manual only describes adjusting the bolt - not how to get it back together. My front bolt has now fallen off and I am struggling to get it back to where it works.

I love and hate this saw. This is the second problem I've had with failed adjustment screws in two weeks. The owners manual didn't even address my first problem (wouldn't hold blade height) and the documentation for adjusting the sliding table tension does not address how to put it together again after it falls apart.

Any help is appreciated. A more detailed instruction manual would great.

Thanks,

Roger

Rodger,

The coupling for the locking link is a double-ended threaded nut, much like a turn buckle. Simply place ends of the links into the "Nut" and turn it. The links should thread into the nut. Turn the nut until the link is tight when locked but somewhat loose when unlocked.

Thanks Jake.

Unfortunately, I've had a great deal of difficulty doing this. I start both ends of the nut at the same time, but it doesn't tighten enough to hold the sliding table. It's as if the long side of the nut has to be started first with a couple of turns then start the short side (the side closest to the edge of the table. Trial and error has led to a lot of "error".

I'm also unclear on how to test the tension of the front and back pieces, as there is no way to test them independently. I believe that is what happened the first time - the back was so loose it just rattled apart but the front was tight enough to hold the table.

I'll try it again - it is quite frustrating because of the way you have to get the hook on the bar to meet the slot in the orange handle when you tighten the bolt. I realize I sound like a incompetent boob, but you should really try to do this on a unit at your office. It is a pain.

Thanks again,

Roger

The only additional advice I can give you is to turn the saw over on its back so you have easier access to the linkages.
