I just purchased a Ridgid miter saw from Home Depot. I chose it over the Delta that was right next to it (for the same price) because of the warranty.

I haven't opened the box yet, and I'm thinking about taking it back and getting the Delta because of the angle guide. On every other miter saw I've seen and used, the guide was right in the front, and the numbers lined up with the handle.

But with the Ridgid, they are off to the side, and seem awkward. I could probably get used to it, but I just find it odd since every other saw besides the Ridgid has the same design.

I still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to take it back, but I just wanted to say that the only reason I'm considering NOT keeping the Ridgid, is because of the guide.

btw, I think its great that you guys have this forum and take feedback from customers :D

*edit*
For reference, the model number is MS1060

My suggestion is to make some cuts with the saw. Depot will generally take things back with no problem, so if you are not satisfied with unit then exchange it for the Delta.

The only thing I ask is that you cut with it for a while and see how you like it.

I have no doubt that its a great saw, it's just there is an aspect of it that I found unappealing, and since I found this feedback forum, I figured I'd post what I thought could be improved on the saw. smile.gif
