Blade Guard Dust Port

I'd like to see Ridgid offer, either as standard equipment or as an accessory, the plastic blade guard equiped with an exhaust port on the top for overhead dust collection.

As long as I'm on the subject of the bladeguard, can anyone tell me why there is a rectangular opening at the top front of the bladeguard and does it have a purpose?

Hi Dave,

I'd like to see that too, the dust port that is. I don't think it would be that difficult to modify the guard and add such a dust port, but the width of the guard would limit its size.

I think the window in the current guard is to eliminate having to look through two pieces of plastic which would increase the distortion when viiiewing the work piece in relation to the blade.
