I have just purchased the ts3650 and love it. I read many reviews good and bad on this machine while researching. On some of the bad issues I say-try using a shopsmith-it is great for space but as a table saw it is terrible! As for being difficult to build-I work with wood because I like the sense of accomplishment-although after building this beast I have enough sense of accomplishment to last a lifetime. As far as leg flex-so it flexes-I have yet to see a post on the saw falling on people. I will soon test the arbor issue.
Overall, after dealing with a heavy, overpriced shopsmith I love this saw.

There's no need to test the arbor issue. Just look at it, if there is a groove between the threaded portion of the arbor and the solid portion of the arbor, you have one that needs replacing.

OK..after checking other postings someone (I can't remember who) posted pictures of the old and new arbor which clarified things greatly for me. I purchased my saw about three days ago from HD with the new arbor in place. It appears perhaps the "evil" Ridgid has responded to an error appropriately (for me anyways). In addition while shopping I was going to purchase the job site saw with a few outfeed tables but HD was sold out. Instead of driving around for one they gave me a 10% discount on the 3650. For $50 more I purchased this saw. So far from the postings I have recieved unusually good customer service/response from both HD and Ridgid.

Okay, as I was disposing of all the wrappings for this beast I found I had 3 of the 1/4-20x3/4 square head screws and 3 1/4-20 hex flange nuts left over. I have reviewed the instructions twice without finding these. Are they extras...will this thing come apart...will my wife repeatedly say "you can't finish anything/I told you so"...

I'm not 100% sure but I believe they're for attaching an auxiliary face to the fence. See page 53 of the manual. Just got my 3650 yesterday and did a quick read of the manual.

I don't have a 3650, but all of my Ridgid stationary tools that required some assembly had extra hardware in the box. Only company i know of that does that, most only give enough and if one gets lost or damaged you have to make a trip to the hardware store.
