setting jointer knives, I am all thumbs. I am in need of some new ones in the olde jointer and I am not looking forward to changing them (anyone in south Chicago/NW Indiana wanting to make a few bucks:)?

Anyway, a few years back I bought a "jointer pal". Did not work well for me. IN shopping for some new knives....i came across this....

There is a knife set jig at the bottom of the page. Anyone familiar with it? Is it worth it?

Have you looked into the newer, spiral blade cutter heads for your jointer?

Supposedly, the blades do not require height adjustment.

The only retro-fit company I am aware of is Sunhill Machinary.

Sunhill Machinery Spiral Cutterhead (http://www.sunhillmachinery.com/CutterheadDifference.htm)

I don't know anyone who owns one of these and have asked around on various boards with no response.
