Charger fan

I never really noticed a fan going on when I charge the 14.4v batteries. Is the sound very noticable or do you really have to listen for it? Also does it only go on when the batterie is too hot to charge?

It is about as hard to hear as a jet taking off :D
No trouble knowing that the fan is on, for the dual charger it comes on as soon as the battery is inserted and stays on until it is removed, even after the charge cycle is complete

I own both the two bay charger and the one bay charger. The two bay charger has a fan and as WBrooks notes it is very noticable. The single bay charger doesn't have a fan. So if you have a single bay charger you will not hear a fan noise.
