Does a drill with a higher number of blows make a one drill more useful in drilling masonary than a drill with lesser blows?
I have noticed that some very good hammer drills
have less bpm than some lesser hammerdiliis.
Any thoughts on this?

It has more to do with the impact energy delivered by each blow. The efficiency depends on rotary speed (BPM), size of impact (bit travel per blow), and the weight of the tool
