BS1400 Grease Removal

Just assembled my new BS1400 that I bought on clearance at Home Depot. The cast iron table is coated in a "tough" grease for protection.

Before I start experimenting, can anyone give me a heads-up on a locally available, safe solvent for this grease?

"Oderless" type of mineral spirts has much less smell so I like that better than the regular type , HD has both. I use "Barkeepers Friend" cleanser to remove rust marks which I buy at Walmart and is not expensive.
