I haffta thread some 4 inch ductile iron in order to screw on companion flanges thus creating "spool pieces" (sections of pipe with a bolting flange on each end).

Sorry for the drawn out explanation, espeshlee since yiz probbly already now what I mean...

Well anyway, I'm gettin' ready to buy a #141 and my question is, can I thread ductile iron pipe with the dies that come with it? Or do I haffta get special ones?
Thanks ahead of time for any info.

Frank,
Ductile iron pipe has a different outside diameter than regular iron pipe. The 141 will not thread this diameter of material. If you are referring to cast iron pipe then yes, you do need a special set of dies. I hope that this is of some assistance.
