Has anyone found a trick for loosening frozen handle hub without marring it? Strap wrench doesn't work- too smooth,

try wrapping it with 10mil tape to protect the finish and use channelocks. i always grease the threads prior to assembly just for this purpose.

also tapping on the handle with the wooden end of a hammer handle will help jarr the thread.
