I have it, and use it with a large shop vac. It does only fair. If you have a bigger dust collector, I bet it will do very well. If all you have is a shop vac (like me), forget paying for one and keep a broom handy.

My planer came with the accessory but I was unable to try it until just recently due to a previous lack of power in my shop, I hooked up my 6.5hp (like that’s not overrated) craftsman shop-vac to it and planed several 4x4 cedar posts and was shocked by the lack of cleanup required. Without it, I would have had approximately a 5-foot diameter circle 1 inch deep of sawdust; instead I had a handful of sawdust on the platter of the planner. This is completely contradictory to what I had expected from reading previous posts, but I sure was pleased with the results and would highly recommend it.
