I'm thinking of purchasing a new cordless drill.I am considering the DeWalt 14.4 xrp 1/2" and the RIDGID 14.4 volt 1/2".Which is the better drill?

That 3rd speed range on the Dewalt is a really good feature. Very nice for tasks that require spped, but little torque, like TEKS screws.

True....but the Ridgid has the Lifetime Service Agreement smile.gif When a battery goes, get a new one free. That, to me, trumps everything else (unless spending money to replace things like batteries down the road isn't an issue).
