I'm a Ridgid/Dewalt fan myself, and have loved using my 18v Ridgid tools the Impact driver really saves my wrist and the drills have plenty of power. I have used my impact driver the most and barely notice it is in my tool belt.

Please share your experience!

Uh, Uh. I like my nail gun, cause I've never had one before and didn't know framming could be so quick. No, I like my planner cause I didn't know rough cut lumber could look so good when it's planned. No, No I like my 12" MS cause I can't cut a straight line with a hand saw to save my life. BUT, then there's my compressor, and, and that utility vehical for the MS, OH I'm so confused. I just love Ridgid Tools!! There I said it:)

I like my Ridgid JP0610 & TP1300 to make ugly wood into pertty wood. I like to use my TS3650, BS1400, & MS1065 cut up my new found pertty wood in nice shapes and sizes to be put together with my Ridged battery tools or air nailers, & maybe some glue. I love all of my tools & my wife does to if I use them for her. As of now I am building a new shop to hold them so her projects have been on hold. I don't think I will ever have all of the ones I want but, I want the ones I have and use them daily. In the words of my Dad, Build the best and repair the rest.

My favorite power tool would have to be the microwave oven. Because I press three buttons and i am eating hot food in two minutes.

Next would be my metal cutting circ saw.

I'm not sure i can say just one is my favorite but I use my reciprocating saw the most. I use it every day, when we had two broken band saws i used it to cut unastrut. A band saw would do a better job and a lot better when cutting all thread. But my saw was able to handle it just fine. I wish i had more tools being an electrician i have the all the Ridgid power tools i need but i really want to have a little wood working shop. I have a long list off the tools i want... which is for another post.

sparky, try an all thread cutter. looks like a bolt cutter, but it's made for 3/8'' rod. takes a split second to cut rod and no burrs.

if i told you my favorite tool, all the others would be jealous.:p:D:)

my newest tool is the k-60sp drain cleaner. should have that in a week.;)

my wifes favorite tool is the 1210 oiless threader. she had a chance to thread a piece of pipe and was amazed at this machine. she threaded a scrap piece of 1'' green pipe and i put in my truck for kicks. believe it or not i used that exact piece 1 week later for a gas job.

she is still waiting to try my propress tools. she wouldn't climb on the roof of her work last week when i fixed a raypack heater there.

my tools are her life insurance policy. if you ever see a big run of ridgid tools on ebay, check to see if i'm still around.

I would have to say that mine at the moment is my table saw, only because I am just now getting around to using it fairly often and making all the jigs, feather boards and such I need for it which in turn is teaching me additional skills.

But on a note from Plumber Rick on the propress tools, WOW! I needed to change out a hose bib in the front of the house and splice in a new sprinkler manifold and also replace and main water shutoff valve. I had a friend help me out and he borrowed a propress tool and I purchased some fittings from the store he works at and we slapped that assembly together in no time with no leaks at all on the first try. Much easier than my sloppy and rather terrible soldering skills with anything non electrical (or waiting for the pipes to dry out before solder). Usually plumbing is the one thing I avoid during any house repairs or remodel as I just am not that good at it, but with that propress tool I was impressed. Pretty neat stuff.

Uhmmmm,
That would be:
the one I'm using at the time. That is my favorite, because I can remember all the hand tools in the collection that are now collecting rust. Also, just remembering all the projects done with just hand tools.
It is more satisfying to use a recip saw instead of a hacksaw, or a detail sander than a block of sandpaper, for instance.
I have around 70 power tools; not just one or two brands, but cherry-picked tools from all the brands (I own no Ryobi tools, though).
This makes me pretty color blind.

My favorite has got to be my Sawzall. Demoliton has got to be the best therapy out there. The one tool that has made my life easier has got to be my nail gun. Talk about stepping out of the dark ages and into the light.

I have found the my 18v Impact driver is my favorite tool. All the framers use them to drive screws into the metal studs. An impact driver makes work so much easier you never have a problem backing out others screws to get something out of your way and then put it back. If only my foreman didn't ban me from using it. Yet it is my tool and he only carries a tape measure!

My 4 1/2" angle grinder by Makita. I put a diamond blade in it and use it for cutting tile and for cutting concrete. I put an abrasive disk in it and use for grinding paint off of metal. It's extremely useful on a jobsite

Right now I’m thinking it is my Porter-Cable 7424 Polisher, I waxed the car two days ago, waxed the truck today and have to wax the boat next week. It differently is not the most fun tool to use but it sure reduces the amount of elbow grease required to complete those dreaded jobs.

I have started to use my miter saw more and really love how easy it makes some of the projects i do with the tools i do have. I would like to make shelves and a crib but don't have the tools for that yet. I would really love to get the TS3650 and a shiny new jointer!

cordless ridgid impact driver is GREAT; I rarely use my cordless drill any more. i can hang cabinets MUCH easier by myself, (not nearly as much pressure needed)...in short; I use it A LOT!!!

probably my most treasured power tool is my old walker turner table saw, It is one good machine, I bought that when I was in High-School, and have built many items with it,

but probably the one I need at the time is my favorite tool, yesterday the cutting torch and welder was my favorite, as I don't think DUck tape would have worked (Sorry Red), but then the next day it may be the chain saw or what ever, it is the tool I need to get the job done,

i would say my Makita 12" CSMS that i got brand spanking new on Amazon for $43, by virtue of it being an incredible deal and the best 12" sliding ms out there.

before that, without hesitation, my Dremel XPR with 90 accessories.

CheekyMonkeyWrench

the Makita saw was actually $46 and change....not 400 and something. It could be Amazon's worst blunder, and a customers best reward in history.

I ordered 2 of them, and gave one to a family member, and my credit card was charged 93 dollars and change. out of all the people I told and all the people that ordered them on here, only one other person rec'd one.

to add insult to injury, Makita even honored a free blade rebate they had going on, so me and my brother rec'd a nice $50 check last month.

Although not 46.00, my favorite power tool has to be my Bosch 12" SCMS. Just got replacement windows installed and instead of going the cheap route (shoe molding butted up against the windows) I built custom window jambs for each window (what a pain!). Without the SCMS it would have taken forever to cut the jambs and trim.

Now that I think about it, my DeWalt router was just as useful for the same project.........I guess we can call it just about a tie between those two.

For hand tools, my favorite is hands down (no pun) the *original* Stanley wonderbar. I destroyed a whole 10x12' room (panelling, drywall, molding, insulation) in about 2 hours with only that tool.

My 1663-20 Milwaukee Compact(spade handle drill) drill. Great power and great control(soft start helps deal w/ torque twist at start up and long pipe handle helps control drill if it ever binds in a hole). Love that you can adjust the speed w/ the speed dial. I even use it w/ power auger earth augers(I have a 2"and a 5{made very well w/ 1/2" hex shanks-purchased at Forestyry supply}") to plant flowers, bulbs etc w/ it set to no 2 on the speed dial.

A close 2nd to my 1663-20 Milwaukee spade handle drill are my 2 bosch Rt angle drills. The Bosch 1132vsr(0-1100rpm,speed dial, variable speed, reverse and 3.8 amps) and my neat liitle lith ion PS10-2 cordless screwdriver(10.8volts,0-600rpm,racheting head,80 inch lbs on torque, variable speed and reverse). Both make life easier in close quarters!!!!!:D

DEWALT DW364K 7-1/4-Inch Heavy Duty Circular Saw with Electric Brake and Rear Pivot Depth of Cut Adjustment with Kit Box. I'm sure theres bigger and better saws out there, but this is my favorite. Why, because I have dropped mine (2 of them) many, many times off roofs, from ladders, off benches, and one even got run over by a truck, and they keep on cutting. Ya you better wear hard hats around me... LOL... I do have another Dewalt w/out the electric break but I don't use that one as much as the other two, it is older and still cutting also.

Close, but normally this type of a Fireman's Axe <aka> Pick-Axe is for busting into a burning house or busting your way out. They are used on buses to help people get out fast if on fire. One would be handy for camping too, but I like the ones with a flat butt end for such. I should add this this style comes with a 30-36 inch long handle and the head is around 5-6 pounds. I think that would be a bit much to take along camping if you needed to carry it very far.

I was close but no cigar. My dad had one and used it around the fire place when I was just a young pup. My wife walked up when I was typing the first one and asked why I was checking out a pick axe, I just smiled, she does know tools too, she grew up on a farm, yet married a city slicker.

Ryobi 18 volt spiral saw.

http://www.homedepot.com/cmc_upload/HDUS/EN_US/asset/images/eplus/033287135493_4.jpg

If I just chose the tool I use the most it would have to be a cordless drill but there are plenty of them around.

The cordless high speed spiral saw is a little more unique.

I've used it to...

...cut outlet holes in drywall.

...route a channel in wood for wires.

...grind a slot in a keyed lugnuts for a vehicle that the owner had lost the key for.

...polish a watch.

...remove plastic from an RC car's chassis.

...clean rust off a tool.

...sharpen an axe.

It isn't perfect. The switch is a little to easy to bump on...but it has paid for itself 20 fold.
