Ridgid Quality Diminished

Bought a really nice set of USA built Ridgid Screwdrivers imagining the extra money was buying high quality tools only to see them rust inside the tool box and break after very little use. The 'hardware' dept. at Home Depot laughed when I brought em back and said, ' well, you could go back to Ridgid direct.' Guess the quality image is diminished substantially by putting out low quality metal in an other expensive product with your brand name front and center. Unlucky!

I thought that Ridgid discontinued making screwdrivers years ago? Are you sure that those weren't Husky screwdrivers?

I have never seen Ridgid screwdriver's in home depot, which store did you go to? I have only seen, husky, workforce, Stanley, Klein, Channel lock(in a set with wrench's), the bit shooter and a few others i can't remember....

I like the Klein screwdrivers for their cushion grip handles and quality construction. I have plent of other makes but the Kliens are my favorite for most work.

i have craftsman in my home tool box and all types in my work truck , thats because i fined a lot on jobs . the one i use the most is a 6 in one that i keep in my pocket all the time , you never know when you will need it;)

To my knowledge, Ridgid hasn't made screwdrivers in several years. I've heard that they were great, but I've never seen them. I've been trading at Home Depot quite regularly in the past three years and haven't seem them at my local store. Of course it wasn't here prior to that, so maybe they had no old stock.

I am looking at a ridgid catalouge right now....the year 2000 and they are in there under general purpose tools.
