Oh wait, you asked Josh if we (I guess this means Josh or Ridgid) could do something for members who post x number of messages. I got it, let's give everyone who has posted 816 messages a new 5 pc. set of Ridgid cordless tools (mainly because this is my 816th post and I need a new set of cordless tools :D )
Just kiddin of course.

OH, is that how they do it.... "Senior Member" goes by number of posts?
Gee, and I thought it was just recognizing my age or something ;)
Figured the next level was "Anybody know what happened to?"

i guess it's better than rating the member. there was a member rating on the old forum format. it was sort of stupid to be rated a 5 star with only a hand full of post.
this way it sort of lets others know how much you contribute, instead of how popular you are.

With the changeover to the new system we finally got rid of that rather stupid star rating system. Titles like Senior Member, etc also have no real value and serve no useful purpose that I can see. I'm also not a big fan of posting the number of posts a member has made. I think we all are aware of the quantity/quality formula.

I agree with BadgerDave, the ratings can be misleading to newer members.
Everyone's opinion, whether they have posted only once or a thousand times has value, the rating system not reflect anyones skill level.
The only ones that have meaning are Moderator or Administrator.
My posts number 3 and 5 above were not serious suggestions and I hope not taken that way by anyone.
