Identifying Types of wood

I recently helped a friend cut down a tree in his back yard. I'm taking some of the wood to mill and use for projects. Is there a website that would help me identify the type of wood it is. I figure worse comes to worse I could always use it for firewood.

Check out 'Identifying Wood' by (I believe) Hoag. That book has more information than you'll probably ever even want to know about the subject.
