That is a great deal. Anyone thinking about buying one of these should RUSH to the nearest HD and snap one up. HD ran this same special early last year but it only lasted for 2 days here, a Friday & Saturday IIRC.

Oh TOD... You are SO lucky Lorax is busy on that crib project.
He would have torn you up for that. :p

Thanks for the tip! I went to a Home Depot here in San Diego. They hadn't marked them down yet, but I checked at the services desk and they were on sale. Mine rang up automatically at $99, plus I had a coupon.
I should add my voice to those praising this rolling miter saw stand. I've had one on a Bosch sliding miter saw for 2 years, and it is great. Many contractors and woodworkers that have seen it have told me it's the best design they've ever seen, and they can't believe it can be had for as little as $99 on sale.

"I give up what is an MSUV?"
Don't even slow down to find out, just go get one...NOW!!! :D
Really, Dave said it all. Having owned one for two years now, it is the best portable stand for a miter saw out there at any price. For $99.00, everybody else should just pack up and go home 'cause its no contest.
I searched through the Ridgid site and couldn't find any clip-art or anything about the MU-UV. I guess it is the red-headed stepchild of the woodworking group. Josh, if you are listening, this needs fixing. I know the manual used to be available online, but I couldn't find that either. The image below I found in my browser's temp folder, so it must be out there somewhere.

Look what I found here on the site.

Yep, that's her all right. I always thought of it as a power tool accessory, not a benchtop tool.
But I did search though the whole list and not find it, and I know I was on the page, I remember seeing the EB4424, but the MS-UV didn't register I guess.
It also makes a good stand to mount a portable planer on, such as the Ridgid or DeWalt DW-735, and others.

It folds up to take up very little space, even with the MS mounted on it. That's one of the great features of the MS-UV. It is also easy to maneuver through doorways and up/down stairs with the large diameter wheels.

YARG!!!!! I just bought one 2 weeks ago!!!! Got it at (competitive home supply store) and it's (competitive brand) for an old compound mitre saw I've had for about 7 years. Mine's not near as nice and doesn't even have wheels!!!
I LOVE it tho for it's ability to do the stop-block, and for the roller feed on the other side!! Hurray for not waiting 2 stinkin weeks for the GOOD one.......
*sigh*
GO GET ONE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!!! You can always use the "but it's so much SAFER this way, honey" excuse. Wiggle your fingers at your significant other and explain how keeping all your fingers is for his/her benefit and so on...It worked for me!!! ;)

Does HD have a low price guarantee? If so, go get a refund for the difference today. If not, buy another one and return yours (or it).

A friend of mine has wanted the Ridgid MSUV ever since he saw mine. I read this post today and called him. He went to HD here in Bowling Green and they told him they were still $149. He called me from there and I told him to have them check the price, they did and it rung up $99. The price I guess was changed in the computer but the store people were unaware.
PS He bought it!!

Yes, Home Depot has a 30-day price guarantee. Just go to the service desk with your reciept and they will refund the difference. I've used it several times, with no problem.

I think it was purchased at a different store than HD, don't know if they will allow a return for that reason.
I did go down and buy one on Saturday. They had about 50 of them stacked up and people milling around everywhere deciding if they should buy one or not. I was in a pretty big hurry and not fully authorized by the LOML so I just grabbed one and threw it on the cart and headed for check out. (Fortunately my wife thought it was cute  and functional :) so i dodged the bullet on this one...)
Bisquit, the sale ended on Sunday here so I wish you luck and hope they are still cheap where you are today. I assembled mine and used it most of the afternoon yesterday and am quite happy. Plus it freed up some more bench space!
Thanks again for the heads up Bojack!

Thanks for the notice on the sale!

I'd forgotten about that! I haven't even opened the box yet. It's cold here, and the garage needs reorganized before I can even get to things. Once winter sets in, everything gets stacked around the MG, scooters, and other summer toys. The Christmas tree is blocking the workbench, and the typewriters are behind that. Glad you reminded me! :D

I think its a great idea . I rather wheel the planer on a stand with extensions than to have to carry the palner stand and rollers . I am picking one up this morning . Anthony

I picked up mine on Tuesday and got my Ridgid CMS mounted (no probs). This thing is great finally I can put away the sawhorses and ply and have it set to a very nice height. Looking forward to framing out my new bathroom in the basement this spring. I also bought one of the herculifts (with nothing to connect it to at this time) but for $29 i couldnt go wrong....
Thanks for the heads up !!

Hi folks, just an FYI at how useful this thing is.
I just came back from my woodworkers meeting and someone had their mini-lathe mounted to it, so it got me thinking.
Use 3/4" MDF as a base for all your benchtop portable tools:
-Miter Saw
-Mini-Lathe
-Grinder
-Router Table
-Drill Press
-Band Saw
-Planer (may be awesome for that since there are rollers on each side)
-Jointer
Attach a base to each of your units and then use a cam clamp for easy on and off http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10602 . Instead of using the Tslot bolt, just use a regular bolt from the bottom!!!!
Just my $0.02

The gang at SawMill Creek think the MSUV is a great buy for $99 too.
http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=314803#post314803
Some of their comments:
Wow is this thing SWEET !!
" I just finished mounting my DeWalt slider on it. I can't believe how quick and easy it is to set up. "
"...it was a real pain to set up the work supports that don't store with the unit as nicely as the Ridgid does. "
" This Ridgid is just too easy. I love the flip open one set of legs and lower it down. "
I applaud the designers of this thing for its stability and ease of setup. "
" The extendable work supports are just awesome in their effectiveness and simplicity ! "
" A lot of you out there already have this wonderful piece of equipment so you know what I'm talking about. Now I can start kicking myself for not getting one sooner. http://www.sawmillcreek.org/images/smilies/smile.gif "
" I just got one too... and I don't even have a Miter saw.... "
" I can't beleive that they can build these things for $99!!!.. Ball bearing wheels, gas strut lifts, roller outfeeds, etc. This thing is awesome! "
" Folks if you are contemplating this stand, just finish your coffee and go buy it. It is by far the best designed stand on the market of this type. "
I think they like it. :)

Jordi
I too briefly looked at the HF version and opted out. I do not think the construction is nearly as good a quality as the Ridgid. It also seems that you need to lift the assembly up on the legs when you want to use it, where as the Ridgid MSUV never needs to leave the ground when "opened" for use. I do not know that for sure, but that is how it appeared to me and perhaps someone else took a closer look and can verify it. I also appreciate the larger wheels on the Ridgid and think they are more rugged and durable than the HF version.
All in all, after a comparison I would say that I am very happy that I went with the Ridgid and feel it is a more quality piece of equipment. And of course I owe much thanks to Bojack and Bob for notifying us of the $99 sale which made the decision even easier! :D I would say that now that I own one, I would probably still recommend paying the extra $70 or so for the Ridgid at full price than the HF.

I have the MSUV and my FIL has the Harbor Freight stand, he is very jealous! :D
I wouldn't sell the HF stand short though. It's a pretty nice stand if you can set it up and leave it in one place. Unlike the Ridgid MSUV, the HF stand needs to be folded up in order to use the wheels to move the stand. Quite honestly, I lucked out last year and the Ridgid went on sale at a time when I was looking to buy a miter saw stand. If the price hadn't been $99 I may well have opted out for the HF stand. That being said, there really is not comparison between the two. The Ridgid is by far the superior stand and speaking from a very biased viewpoint, quite possibly the best miter saw stand available.:)
Oh yeah, the Ridgid is also lots easier to assemble!

Thanks for the comments, that makes the decision much easier. The HF version is on sale for $59, but it sounds like it is definitely worth the extra $40 for the MSUV.

I think you'd may be much better off to use this method to fasten the tool down. Because you would have to move the tool to one end of the track & slide it along until all the cam clamps bolts are in the track.

ARGH! I too need another tool like I need another tool.
The MSUV is the greatest damn thing though! I used my buddy's miter saw w/MSUV all of last week doing a big project. Every day rolled it out and set it up (in seconds)....every night, folded it up just as quickly and rolled it into the garage. Stores soooo nicely. If I buy the stand, I have to buy the saw, then I have to buy a few more orange things. Poor house, here I come!

Alright!:), got the MSUV. Turns out they werent officially marked until today, and the sign is actually for an additional $50 off when purchased with a Ridgid saw, that means MSUV for $49. Of course mine is going with the new 10" Makita SCMS that Amazon is delivering Monday thanks to another recent post. Isnt it scary how fast the money goes?
BTW it looked like a permanent mark down, no clearence stickers, just the usual HD sticker saying was 149, now 99.

Wheeee!! Thanks so much for posting about this! Picked one up tonight!
The $99 sales price was advertised and the manager's knew about it. If you buy a miter saw, in conjunction with the MSUV, then the MSUV is $50 less (yeah, the Ridgid MSUV for $49.99!)
Planning to install my Bosch SCMS on it tomorrow.
This is awesome because it has much bigger wheels than most MS stands, which means it will go up and down my back basement stairs. :-)
