I think that the cordless impact tools could benefit from an adjustable torque control, even if it were every 100 in/lb over their range. Without it there is too great a chance to shear off smaller bolts less than 5/16" diameter or strip out tapped threads.

By feathering the trigger on a impact , you can set a screw a 1/16" at at time. Thats why I use it for cabinet work, they are very accurate for setting screw depth.
