Just installed a Rigid Submersible Sump Pump. I heard that a 1/8" hole needed to be drilled into the discharge line 3" above where it is connected to the sump pump. Is this true? I want to make sure before I drill any holes. Thank you!
The 1/8" hole is needed on a bottom intake pump with a check valve( you do have A check valve?). Go to www.sspma.org (http://www.sspma.org) to find out more info on sump pumps.
Great! We just replaced our sump yesterday. Thought the hole was from damage and wrapped it in duct tape to plug the hole till we replaced the tubing! LOL
Oh goody. I get to play with the sump pump again!
