tool etching kit

years ago when i was a teenager i had a job detailing cars for a dealership in the summer and one of my tasks was to do the vin etching in new cars , so why not an etching system for tools? something like a credit card like card that's tamper proof with a number and a acid activated strip with the same number so once you etch that number in the tool you can always match to your card if ever needed.
