24Volt Lithium????

Im just curious how Ridgid can claim 4.0 volts per cell when all the stories on Lithium say that the cells ultimately only give out 3.6 volts? Anybody help me out.:confused:

Each cell will reach 4.15V after fully charged. This is normal safe charged voltage for the Lithium Manganese cells. Beside, the pack electronic will shutdown when cell voltage reach around 3.50V.
This is nothing wrong to label the pack as 24V under 4.0V/cell.

Is ridgid offering the lifetime warranty on the lithium batteries

Just read some technical papers about Manganese base Lithium Ion Power Cell, it said the cell capacity will decrease even not using the cells due to the melting of the electrode by the electrolyte of the cell. Anyway, the capacity will decrease in 2 years storage. Beside, I think with heavy loading application, it is quite difficult for any manufacturer to providey on lifetiime warranty on the battery pack.
