I was going to mention the people who got that Makita miter saw pricing fluke. Thats pretty much impossible to top.

Most recently I just got a pretty good deal on a DeWalt DW331k jigsaw. I wasn't intending on buying it. Actualy was looking for Bosch 1590 but I saw the Dewalt priced at $110 at HD, which I'm sure was a pricing mistake. I remember this saw is usually always around $169 anywhere so for $40-$50 less than the Bosch, the DW331k it was.

Besides that I buy most of my stuff on ebay so I usually get way better price than the best deal I can get at any store.

If any of you are wanting a new Bosch 1590EVSK take a look at Coastal Tool & Supply. The last time I checked it was at $149 plus shipping (several choices) but what I like is that they throw in a nice little plastic case with 10 blades as a thank you gift. The blade case fits nicely behind a clip that's part of the case included with this jigsaw.

the best deal i got was on a porter cable / rockwell model 315 ciruler saw i got it for $5.00 16 years ago at a yard sale. it was used by me almost every day for 13 years i have now cleaned it up some and still use it for those "specal projects" and the saw has been dated back to the late 60s to the early 70s. this saw is my baby and if i could locate another one in like new condtion i would spend up to $300 and would not blink an eye:eek:

I discovered a TS 2424-1 (reconditioned) hiding behind some boxes at the local HD. $249.99, and since I needed another blade it pushed it over $299, oh well I just had to get a HD card to use that 10% off offer and oh well it also meant no interest for a year. So I got what I needed stuck $25 in savings for 11 mos. and voila' my first Rigid addition to the shop. I'l have to say I was a bit disappointed when the local HD indicated that factory refurbs were no longer coming to the retail store, but I think I got a good deal on a $649 saw+ Freud blade less than 3 bills.

Best deal I got was right here at HD in Canada, believe it or not. Back in the middle of October or so, the HD's here had a big MaxSelect sale on - buy one tool for $79, get another free. After tax, about $46 a tool. With full eligibility for the LLSA. The MaxSelect tools retail here for $129 ($119 in the U.S.), and our dollar was just about at par at that point. I only had the impact at that point, so it was a sweet deal to pick up the other tools. Called all my buds and my dad, we were all there first thing in the morning scooping those up. Best...ever.

I got my Bosch PS20 new in the box from the clearance table at HD for $70. I ran into the store for a metric tape measure for my wife and saw it sitting there, it was just after tax refund so I had to grab it up. I couldve sold it the next day for $100, but didnt.
My 6 1/2" Ridgid Circ saw with a battery for $90 (I had a little persuasion in that deal)
My Ridgid Recip Saw, with 1 battery and charger (when they sold them as a kit) for $110 clearance, it had been sitting out in the open for a few weeks before I bought it, later that day someone asked me what happened to it. I said it must have sold finally (didnt have the heart to tell him who it was sold too, it was a HD legal deal though)

I just picked up a floor model craftsman proffessional router set(ie bosch in craftsman clothing/fixed base/plunge base) for $71.00(retail $229). It's for my older brother. We do not exchange for xmas but he's been making wood projects like a madman and I couldn't resist getting it for him!!!! It's fare better than the antiqued crafsman router he uses. He will be ushered into modern times w/ the varaible speed and soft start.

Ridgid TS2400 Tablesaw for $249 on Black Friday. I had a $50 off a purchase of $250 or more. The best deal though had to have been the 14.4v impact driver, battery and charger for $20 in the clearance section at HD. I gave that to my dad because he liked the MaxSelect one that I have.

This may be cheating, but...

We just opened a new Lowe's, and the night before Opening we have Employee Appreciation Night, where we got 20% off everything in the store, and all combo kits were 20%, so I bought two kits at 40% off, brand new, full warrantees.

So I got my brother the 18v Skill set for $92 (normaly $150) for Christmas,

And I bought myself the $429 Bosch 5-piece for $260. (All my best Christmas gifts this year I bought myself...18v Bosch Drill/Impact/Circ/Recip/Light, Brand-new K2 Apache Raiders and some new Nordica boots.)

Maybe I should have put this in the What you got for Christmas thread?

A six horsepower chipper/shredder. At tractor supply one day saw it on clearance, manager said the engine was locked up. Never had oil or gas in it. regular price 600.00. After four trips back trying to talk her down from the 250.00 she was asking, I decided to pull the trigger and pay the 250.00 with no return possible. I was thinking how could it be locked up if it never has had gas or oil, maybe seized up from moisture because it was sitting outside for three years. So I take it home, rope will absolutely not pull, and start to disassemble it. After taking the chute apart and removing the coke can from under the impeller, I put gas and oil in it and pull the rope three times and it run like a charm. Next trip back I tell the manager what was wrong. Guess I will not get any more deals like that from that Tractor Supply again as long as she is there. :smile-us-down::p
