grit vs microns

:confused: ok when did this happen and can some one please show me a chart as to where i can find witch grit sand paper in comparable to what micron sand paper............ ummmm micron paper. i am told that this is an over seas standerd that is becoming main steam here. also what are the benfits with this system. thanks all:o
