What a show in <st1>Albuquerque</st1>!! Frank’s Supply teamed up with RIDGID to put together a really cool event. Before the show started I walked around some of the other booths and was quite impressed with the amount of tools laid out for demos.

Once the doors opened up the action was non stop. We spent a lot of effort making sure we were moving the huge lines through our booth as quickly as possible. At times the lines were literally 40 people long.

There were quite a few people excited about the SeeSnake micro line as well as the new SeeSnake microDrain.
I got to show off the DVDPak and how well it does in bright sunlight. I knew it was better but in the super bright conditions in <st1>New Mexico</st1> it really blew away the LCD technology.

The pressing booth also had a lot of folks gathered around learning about our new press rings and the RP210.

The tubing cutter station drew some interest in the PVC cutters. Some interest in our new stainless cutter and CSST cutter as well.

We had a section of the booth set up for Locating as well. We had line trace and sonde locating along with showing off the new integrated line trace capability in our new monitors that lets you trace the whole push cable.

I snuck away for 5 minutes at one point and had some of the BBQ. Incredibly crowded and there were some folks who were pretty optimistic about a recovery coming up. Some also described ways they were expanding their service offerings to get through the recession.
<o></o>
Hope to see you all at one of the upcoming events. Well worth the visit.
<o></o>
Josh

I have wanted a dog for a long time. But I was pretty sure I couldn't devote the time necessary to properly raise one and keep it psychologically...

I have wanted a dog for a long time. But I was pretty sure I couldn't devote the time necessary to properly raise one and keep it psychologically healthy.
But I have been watching dog shows and reading dog books for when the time did come.
Plus, I wasn't really sure what breed/type would suit me and my lifestyle.

Well, I didn't find a dog, one found me. At midnight last month I heard something on the front porch. I looked out and there was a mutt-looking dog, I guessed border collie mix. He woke me up out of a semi-sleep state so I tried to shoo him away but he wouldn't go. I went back to bed and left him to his own resources.

To set the stage, I live way off the street, 700 ft or so of winding gravel driveway. I have a horse gate (but no horses) at the street that is locked when I get home every night. I have to walk to the street every morning to get my newspaper. (Five minutes each way the way I trudge).

The next morning I look out the front window and no dog. Fine. I wanted to pick my own dog anyway. I went to kitchen and made coffee and walked to the front window and peered out again. I just stared for a minute or two trying to make sense of what I saw.
There was my newspaper, still in the blue plastic bag they come in here, laying in the middle of my front walk right in front of the steps. Still no dog to be seen. My wife and son were both still asleep. I went out and picked up the paper and there were lite bite marks in the bag. Now, this was just weird.

To make a long story short, the dog came back while I was at work. My wife fed him. He has made this his home. I've checked all the local stores, shelters and had the vet check for a microchip. The dog had no collar.

He had some problems, worms mainly, but no heart worms. He is well adjusted and loves to go walking through the woods (we have plenty) with me. I'm hooked.

A Cost Benefit Analysis of --- Christianity

What if I’m wrong—about Jesus, the Christian faith, God. What if I’m wrong and the atheists are right. What if Jesus is just a fabrication?

...

What if I’m wrong—about Jesus, the Christian faith, God. What if I’m wrong and the atheists are right. What if Jesus is just a fabrication?

Ah, the curse of thoughtfulness…people who aren’t thoughtful don’t struggle with the curiosities of reality. They don’t struggle with the various conundrums of making sense with the world. If you are a sheep, or self satisfied, or just apathetic, it’s all no big deal.

There is a lot of ‘splainin’ to be done out there. And being a Christian doesn’t insulate you from doubts. Everyone has doubts (if you are a thoughtful type person, a thinker).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not teetering on the edge and could go either way. I think I have overwhelming evidence that my convictions are well placed. That my trust has been well spent. But could I be wrong? Absolutely! Everyone can’t be right and I see and hear people all the time with really goofy ideas that have 100% psychological certainty that they are right. I know the power of the mind to trick us and lead us off into very strange enterprises. Psychological certainty is not an indicator of truth.

So, when I read a seemingly persuasive argument from a skeptic or hear something that gives me cause for doubt, I go back to the evidence itself to see what am I missing.

And you know, of course, it’s not just Christians who have doubts. Any thoughtful person is in the same boat. Every single world view has its difficulties and conundrums, its unexplainable features which have to be dealt with. I think the Christian world view has less of these than most.

For some reason, a big stumbling block to many who are or would be Christians is the problem of evil. But do you think the problem of evil is only a Christian problem? Atheist still have to deal with the problem of evil, and also with the problem of good for that matter. Because they have no grounding to deal with either of those things. No God, no transcendence, no grounds for morality, no morality, just stuff. Is that more satisfying?

Bertrand Russell said, and I’m paraphrasing, “How can you talk about God when you are kneeling at the bed of a dying child?”
That sort of thing stymies Christians many times. But philosopher William Lane Craig said, “What is Bertrand Russell going to say when he is kneeling at the bed of a dying child, ‘tough luck, that’s the way it goes!’?” That’s all that’s left for him.

So going from Christianity to Atheism because of doubts about the problem of evil solves nothing. I personally think it compounds the problems.

Reality is messy and though, as a thinking, left-brain type person I would like it all tied up in a neat little package with no loose ends and everything explained, it is not to be so.

More later…..
Thanks to Greg Koukl at Stand to Reason for content.

As the Dems and the Dem Pres fulfill every low expectation which I had for them, I just plod along at work and trust God with everything.

The kids are growing up too fast. I'm growing old too fast. Prices are increasing too fast. And the world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket----right on schedule.

I am nearly speechless as I watch the brazenness of the Democrats in congress.
They don't even bother to hide their agenda anymore.
They are drunk with power and spending our money like drunks.
And the only Republicans that you can blame are Snow, Collins and Specter.

Hold on to your wallets and your guns...they're gonna come for both.

I'm only posting about this because it drove me crazy for so long. The spout was leaking from around the top of the bonnet, so I knew there had to be some way to separate the bonnet from the adapter that screwed into the faucet body. (please pardon the long-winded explanation here) in order to get to the o-ring.
But it would not come apart and I tried everything. I even called Delta support (even though they don't show the faucet on their website anymore) and the tech told me it just pulled off. As you can see from the pic that is a joke! Let's just say the thing that finally got it apart was 'severe vibration'. Looking at the picture,(sorry I don't have one to post of this), the spout will now pull out of the adapter. What is visible in the photo is the "thin o-ring rp1129). When the spout is pulled out of the adapter the "thick o-ring rp20049" is accessible.

Why should I be surprised, that the man who is now our President, who had in just a few short months in the senate garnered the distinction of "farthest left", who as an Illinois state senator had let legislation die that would have provided life saving care for infants who survived abortions, who is associated with all sorts of seedy characters, who openly said we need to "spread the wealth",
why should I be surprised that in his first few days in office he has closed Gitmo and forbade any interrogation techniques other that "please tell us what you know", had started funding the killing of the unborn around the world (with our money), has put forth a spending bill that has more pork in it than a Jimmy Dean sausage and thumbs his nose at every indignant American by assuring Acorn will get their payback for helping by fraudulent means to get him elected.

I am NOT surprised. I am still dismayed watching our country slide into becoming a bunch of lotus eating French.

All 4 of the apartments are on the 2nd floor and are on the end of the building. Each building has 3 floors. Any suggestions on how to thaw the lines?

The first week of the new year is almost over and things are pretty much back to normal.

Jordan, (my eldest son), went back to college on monday, Ethan is back at his studies here at home and his daily violin practice is getting back up to speed (2 hrs/day). I was hoping for a few slow day at work so I could get office things in order, but then again I wasn't. It's always good having the $$$$ rolling in no matter what shape the office is in.

I worked out today as I do every tuesday. If you don't make exercise a priority then before you know it your old, fat and ugly.
Now, I'll just be old and ugly.
