I have experience with both the 10 and 12 inch miter saws and have nothing but good to say about them. I have worked in a cabinet shop for a long time and have compared the ridgid 12 with the dewalt 12 and the ridgid wins hands down.

First, the R12 blade does not torque out of line while the blade spins to top rpm like the DW12. Second, when pivoting the saw for mitres, the R12 tends not to "import" sawdust from behind the fence like the DW12. I also find the handle and trigger on the R12 a much better desing for ergonomics and safety.
