I occasionally like to clean the infeed and outfeed rollers on my 13" planner, but I have not found an easy and safe way to do that as they are always engaged ans cannot be turned by hand with the power off. Removing them, which is a bit of a task is the only way I have found. Why can't there be a release lever similar to the one for the blade assembly to unlock them?

That's an interesting idea, although it would have to be set up in such a way that the plainer could not be turned on while the rollers a disengaged. The cutterhead could throw your stock out of the machine.
