I'm sure you have seen the laser pointer on Norm's miter saw. Craftsman has introduced a similar feature on one of their new miter saws. I think this is a very useful feature, and would like to see it on a Ridgid saw.

I agree, but maybe for a different set of reasons.
I am a woodworker by trade so I have a chance to play around with a lot of new tools. The Sears new laser saw was one I used for two days and it was not a bad saw though it was small for my needs. I would like to see Ridgid addapt the Laser to one of its heavier mitre saws for only one reason. To introduce the gereral public and professional woodworkers to the line. Because of Ridgids connection with Home Depot it has become somewhat of a Joke with professional people. My shop is now about 60% Ridgid and we Love it. If you would come out with the laser on say a Compound Mitre saw your sales would skyrocket. I cant tell you how many customers ask me if I use a laser on my saw. Think about it....

I have purchased a laser guide for my Delta from Blade Point. Does the job and is supposed to add-on to any miter saw.

I believe that Porter Cable is coming out with a dual laser compound miter saw that has a laser that marks each side of the saw kerf.

I saw that Porter-Cable at IWF in Atlanta. The feature it has that others lack is that the laser runs even when the blade is still, allowing adjustment with motor off. However, I wasn't the only one who found a bit of flicker in the laser to be annoying.

The new issue of Wood magazine shows the new Delta dual laser 12" MS as well as a 10" front bevel control MS (in a pullout XMAS list style ad). Also explains the Industrial and Shopmaster lines...

Sure would like to see a slider with the laser guides...that would really come in handy.
