  • television commercial?

Any of you ever had any success with a television commercial. Thinking of advertising with a local TV station. Prices are right and seems like a fair deal.

    Re: television commercial?

I was about to last summer and an unexpected expense sucked every dime of the $2000 I set aside to test it out.

I met with a rep and was just getting the (can't remember term she used)
proof of the written commercial, kind of like a story board for a movie.

Production of the commercial was quoted between $600-$750 after that I could stick with them or get a copy for $40 to bring to another station.

    I think it's worth giving a shot.

I like how I chose how much I want to put into it, no long term commitments like Super pages.

Have you talked to any reps yet?

those#'s must be small markets or cable stations.

out here it's like paying for 30 seconds during the super bowl

radio is a much cheaper option.

It is a community channel on the local cable network. Features things like high school sports, a daily live show, cooking show, around town, etc. They claim to have had approximately 80,000 adult viewers within the last 6 months. For example, they shoot and edit the 30 second commercial for free and offer sixty 30-second spots throughout the day, plus 12 live reads during the daily live show for $300 a month.

that sounds too good to be true.

$300 a month for all that time is a bargain.

for 300 i might get a coffee mug with my name to flash on the news reporters screen for a second, once in the entire month

            What he said.

Not to mention the TV guys will always try to upsell you on the number of commercials you need to run, suggesting that you need X amount of views for anyone to pay attention.

Unless you're buying spots at 3AM.

Finally settled on a package. Thirty 15 second spots, plus 30 billboard slides during the live show for $100 a month. The producers are coming up with a script right now. I will show you the commercial later and hopefully get some good feedback from you guys.

Thought I would put this up and see if I could get some good feedback before airing it. It is kind of low quality so I can be sent via email.

just think, that 15 seconds would have cost you 1.5 million last week for the superbowl

let us know how it works out. 300 a month is my shake bill

                    Re: television commercial?

We are looking at 30 airings a month, website links, and a few other billboard slides for $100 a month. Plus an appearance on the live show every other month to discuss the industry, home improvement, etc. On a side note do you still have any compact seesnake systems available for sale?
