  • Actual tool idea submission procedure

I'm an inventor and have a tool that I actually think could be an asset to Rigid. The tool has been field tested and has great synergy with the existing product lines offered.

Other that this informal forum, does anyone know the formal procedure for submitting ideas to the Rigid R&D department?

Talmzor, the official route is to submit through this.

choose "marketing - new tool ideas" as the recipient.

Josh should be able to get you a contact name and number.

If you haven't already check out this and other sites along with the USPTO website.

      http://www.inventions.org/index.html

      http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/dapp/pacmain.html

Josh, if you do dig up a contact within RIDGID, maybe you could post a sticky to this Forum with that and any other information which might be available (maybe a contact email like inventions @ ridgid.com which could be forwarded to whoever's personal email address.

You are fast Josh, as I was writing this you answered the Q.

Hello Talmazor. I was wondering how your venture with your new tool went. Did you hear from Rigid?

That was his only post in 10 years, I doubt he will reply.

        Hey ToUtahNow,
You are probably right. But has anyone gone through the process of submitting their invention to Rigid? I am asking bc I have been working on a drain cleaning tool that I would like to bring to market.

Speaking of strangers how are you Mark? Haven't heard much from you lately. Getting settled in at the new digs OK?

We are doing okay. We are staying at the resort until our house is built. Almost no access to Internet.
