  • RIDGID Compressor With Toolbox On Top

I noticed that Home Depot is now selling an air compressor with a toolbox on top and a finish nailer and brad nailer. I am in the market for a small air compressor and like Ridgid so I thought this might be a good deal.

I already own the Ridgid finish nailer that comes with it and I really like it. I have had it for a few months and has not jamed on me yet. I Also own a brad nailer but it only shots up to 1 1/4 brads. I would be more interested in the package if the ridgid one shot up to 2" brads. I can not seem to find that information anywhere. I assume it doesnt.

I still might get it and sell my old brad nailer and keep the new one. I do not like my dewalt brad nailer.

BTW this is my first thread on this forum. The only Ridgid tools I own are a finish nailer and my brand new fraiming nailer.

    Welcome to the forum!

Saw that, too, just yesterday when I was shopping for a nailer .. for $270 it is GREAT price for a combo. But I already have a Craftman compressor and a cheapo 1.25" brade nailer, so I just bought the 16g finish nailer...

BTW, the Ridgid combo does come with a 18g brad and a 16g finish nailers. In fact, the 18g brad is supposed to shoot up to 2.25" which you are interested in.

Do you have a link to show me it can shoot brads up to 2.25? I looked at the model numbers on the box and HomeDepot did not have the same brad nailer that comes in the kit. They have another one with a slightly different model number. Which is what makes me believe it doesn't shoot the long brads.

I just bought one. I love it 100%. No complaints whats so ever about it. I actually returned the mini wheel barrel compressor and bought this one. I love it. Best move I have made. I ended up with an awsome compressor an extra nail gun and $50 cash.

I know the finish nailer can shoot 2.5's but the brad nailer? I cant find anything on the model number. I think Ridgid made it specially for this kit.
Maybe PMLawnCare can answer my question. How long of an 18 guage nail can the small gun shoot.

Is this the same Brad Nailer? R213BNA Cat #21178
If yes they claim a 5/8" - 2-1/8" range and 18 gauge size brads.

I purchased this compressor and ended up returning only due to noise level...I was upset as this is a very cool set up and from the endless threads I have read everyone seem to be happy with compressor that it comes with. db levels in specs would have been helpful...

Have makita 700 on the way...

If noise is not concern, my guess is you would be happy with this setup...

My bad... I looks at it again in HD today, and Model # is R138BNA, suggesting that it is just up to 1 3/8". At a glance I thought is the R213BNA. Sorry for confusing you.

It is perfect because I was planning on buying my dad the pin nailer for x-mas for $100. I wanted a small compressor and the staple gun. I already had a brad nailer and finsih nailer. I also like the brad nailer better than my dewalt.

Re: RIDGID Compressor With Toolbox On Top

Does anybody know if Ridgid has stopped making this kit? It seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but HD has been out of stock ever since I saw it on their site about a month ago. Of course I'm unable to get a straight answer from them as to future availability...

I can't find a trace of it on Ridgid.com either, other than here in the forum.

Given that HD's price is $199, I don't know if I can bring myself to pay the $350 (+ $50 shipping) that the "swell" guy on ebay is asking...

If it won't be available again, I'll probably get either the Dewalt (D55141FNBN), Bostich or Porter Cable (all have similar sets in the same price range) but I'd MUCH rather buy Ridgid, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Any info/advice will be greatly appreciated.

                          Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I picked up a pair of these last week at 199 a shot, not a bad compressor for the cash. As somebody said, it's a bit noisy but thats not really an issue in my case. One of my employee's has already managed to break the handle off of the line reel, so theres something to be said about that.
