  • The "Root" of the Problem

    I bought a decrepit house to knock down and rebuild. The toilet was entirely backed up with sludge - we couldn't fathom how it could possibly be that bad.

    Well later when we went to cut the pipe and cap off the sewer line, we found the "root" of the problem...

    I don't think anything drained down that drain for years!

    I have a curious question - what did you cut that pipe with? The side with the roots hanging out is pretty jagged looking.

    But ya, was the previous owner perhaps a senior citizen that never used that bathroom? Or did the house just sit for a few years?
