Please keep us busy trying to figure it out.

        ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's something from long ago that I found. Can anyone guess what these are and what they were used for?

        Hints: outdoors, fluid, pail

I'm bad for interupting so if anyone takes a try at my items please say which item. Maybe I should just delete this and shut up for now? I'll let everyone know who is the first to get it right tomorrow. For now keep trying and good luck.

Woussko, Looks like a pair of dull bottle openers, or bone remains of some sort, not sure

Here's another hint. ToUtah figured out it was a press of some sort and Mrs. WC figured it was a bike specific tool. Here's a pic that puts the tool size into perspective and could give hints as to what it could be used for:

Bingo! It's a headset press, or in general a bearing press. It's used to press pretty much any bearing cartridge into tubes evenly on both ends. The stepped bushing cylinders on the inside are machined to typical bearing and tube diameters to keep bearings entering straight and on center.

                        Re: What is it?

They are taps for maple trees. The wild part is there are several ridges on them for the pail bail or hoop. These are cast aluminum and are old ones. There are two of them in the picture that are the same. I figured with 2 that would keep everyone guessing more.

It's past time I shut up and give this a break now.

Here is an easy one for those who I have shown this to before. If you have seen this before don't cheat. The item I am asking about is the silver colored item in the center of the photo.

Part of it looks like my 65R ratchet but the sliders and pegs has me fooled.

                                Is it homemade?
