  • Nominations for Thread of the Year 2007

Lets give this a try. Please post nominations for thread of the year. No hard and strict criteria here... just your favorite thread of the year with a very short description of why its your favorite.

Nominations will include and must be from 2007 (also... you can not be the started of the thread you nominated)

    1) Link to the thread
    2) Short sentence/paragraph describing why this thread was significant.

On new years day I'll post up a poll and we can vote on the thread of the year.

If this doesn't work I wont do it again next year but I figured its worth a try.

This thread gets my vote. Alot of personal stories of being sick, some safety thrown in there by BobD. Just hearing the different stories of people getting sick from clearing drains, to HVAC just shows how defenseless we really are to these illnesses, or injuries.

Alot of people atleast viewed the thread with over 1700 views and almost 60 posts, im sure some info on how you can prevent or signs to look for illness or injury was soaked in with people....

    This gets my nomination.

this was just a positive topic that seamed to stay on topic and was help full to others.

he kept us updated, and informed, and so far(as far as i know) it has worked.

and josh you should add one rule to this. you can not put a thread you started. if you particapated in it that is fine, but you should not have started it.

sorry drain medic, i to agree your post was a darn good you, but if everyone picked threads they started i belive this would become a huge fight and in a hurry. just my 2 cents on it.

Re: Nominations for Thread of the Year 2007

Have seen many in the few months that I have been here. Every day there is a new thread that peaks my interest. And sometimes I'll read a thread that has 30 or more boring posts and 1 brilliant post.

I think Dog wanted to start a Hall of Fame section. I like that idea. Nobody really uses that lame ranking system anyway.

Anyways, I picked one that was amusing to me:
                    http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12841

All Clear Sewer just wanted a small part for his snake cable and couldn't get any satisfaction. This has to be one one the most trafficked threads this year. My prediction of a 1000 hits was WAY off. Nearly 6000 views since August and counting. When I look to see Who's Online there is usually at least one Guest reading this thread. My guess is that it's linked to some porn thread search string.

I wonder if All Clear ever got his parts

Any that I started have to automatically be disqualified as normally hounds can't use a personal computer. I happen to be a special hound that can. Let us all pray that there never is another quite the same to enter this forum. I remember a few good ones about safety and will have to go hunt them down. Anything to keep people from getting hurt or killed is well worth the effort.
