I went to this show last year. Delta and Porter-Cable took over most of the show and no wonder with them being owned by Black & Decker which is headquarted nearby. It was a pretty good show. Outside was an interesting working display of a small portable sawmill.

Yeah, that bandsaw mill was cutting up my walnut log on Sunday last year.
Didn't know you were there last year Woussko. I hope to make it again this year but not sure if it will be Sat. or Sun.

I'm not sure when or if I'll make it this year. Last year I got there Sunday afternoon. In a way it was good as the dealers wanted to sell off everything rather than pack it up.

The portable sawmill I saw the demo of had a circular blade that could be rotated 90 degrees. Maybe it will be back this year and I can study it more if I make the show.

That was the Peterson Sawmill, a nice piece of equipment for sure, very versatile. Video Gallery of Peterson Portable Sawmills

My log was cut on the Wood-Mizer bandsaw mill. That was a heavy load to drag back to NJ, it started out as a ~38" x 7-1/2' log and was still pretty wet.

I'll probably stop in at this one. There's a couple tools I'm interested in from Lie-Nielson. They're usually at these shows. I'm also interested in the Rikon band saw, so hopefully there'll be a demo unit there to check out.

Let me know if anyone wants to hang out one of the days, and I'll put that day on my schedule. Maybe the Grand Howler can come out of the dog house one day!
I put it all back together better than before. There\'s lots of leftover parts.

Well, I did not make it to the show. Anyone else find the time?

There is another mid-February in Somerset, NJ. Same show, different location, so maybe I will make it to that one.

I made this show last year, but not this time. I'm not really into going to a show where Black & Decker owned Dewalt, Delta and Porter-Cable hog up over 1/2 of the show. I want to see the other brands get some space too.

For what it's worth back years ago there was an Industrial show held first at the Baltimore convention center and later at the state fair grounds where this woodworking show is held. It started off for several years being a good industrial tool and machinery show. Then later (especially when moved) it became an anything and everything show. Sorry, but I don't go to an industrial show to buy a copier, FAX machine or other office supplies. I also don't go to buy a new fancy "Yaupo Schight" brand business suit. People get angry and quit going. Dealers and tool reps quit too. Soon that was the end of that show.
