  • 2 foot of snow in Elyria OH

Well I am sitting in here looking outside. Everyone is snowed in. They have actually shut down a bunch of roads and the airport.

    Anyone else buried?

Just rain here and windy. There has been talk on the news about your area getting heavy snow.

Do you have "Monster Shovel" ready for action there?

          OK

Monster Shovel is just a for fun joke. No way would Josh have the space or $$$ for one of them or the need for it either.

I think this is more like what he should have. I know a landscaper - lawn service that has one for the winter. I've seen it in action and it's great to say the least. The rubber crawlers really help it get the job done.

Having crawlers really makes a difference over models on wheels. The wheeled models just stand there and spin wheels.

Whoever designed tubeless tires needs to be shot point blank range.

I have 4' drifts of snow against my shop and I can't get the tire to seal to the rim to inflate the tire. What is the point of an 8" tire not having a tube?

I tried taking a tire off my two wheeler, of course it didn't work.

If I get air in that tire....

I'm the only guy on the street with a snow blower. I don't offer to do others, just show and do the old people's sidewalks, that's it.

Josh, ya just missed it here. Official says 14" but I measure 10-12" around my house. This is big for this area!

Josh, we set an all time record for total snowfall here this year so I feel your pain. If we ever get any warm weather here I'll send it your way 24 hours later.

Here on the north side of Lake Erie, we're getting it pretty good too. Looking outside, we're running about 7 to 9 inches. But, the winds are really wicked around here for the duration of today, and all over the place there are snow drifts of 1 to 2 feet. I've shovelled my driveway 3 times now (2.5 cars wide, and 40 feet long), and I've now got huge 6 foot snow piles covering the majority of the yard.

One good thing about it though - my pregnant wife is keeping up with the snow; she's inside, sitting on the couch reading, making wise cracks, and commenting on the wind and the cold from inside on her warm little spot. But do I mind??? Nope - she's been feeding me hot toddy's and Bailey's & coffee all day, more than enough to keep me going (about 2 per shovelling tour-of-duty). PERFECT. I knew I married a keeper!

good thing the pumper show wasn't this weekend . but then i would have liked it if it was with all the snow

That tire I was cussing about?

My dad and I got that tire on after a bit but the rim exploded when it reached 30 pounds.

Didn't even realize what happened, thought the tire exploded but the plastic rim broke into 9 pieces, left me holding the tire.

The quickest moving piece hit me in the foot with such a force that it cut my boot across the steel toe cap instantly. I'm probably going to have a bruise where the cap's edge went down onto my foot.

If I didn't have steel toes on, I'd be in a hospital right now with a broken foot.

I ended up modifying the snow blower after the incident with two-wheeler's tire and a long bolt. Snow was 3 foot high at the front of the drive, cleared at least 8 parking spots.

                            not to rub it in,

but i had a sewer to do this morning at 9am (k60 6'' main)

after knocking it off in a matter of minutes with heavy roots, i was asked to replace a hose bibb out back.

this is a 8 unit building and no one was notified of a water shut down.

looked at the situation and said, i'll wing it live.

off with the old, on with the new ball valve hose bibb. sure i got a little wet in my tee shirt, but it was already approaching 80. they were so impressed they had me do a second one.

glad it was a nice day or i would have shut the water.
